Content Length
Content length is the total word count of a webpage. While Google has repeatedly stated that word count is not a direct ranking factor, correlation studies consistently show that pages ranking in the top three positions of the SERP average over 1,400 words. However, writing long content just to hit an arbitrary word count is a losing strategy that dilutes relevance and frustrates users. The ideal content length is dictated entirely by the search intent of the query; an informational guide requires 2,000 words of exhaustive depth, while a transactional product page requires 300 words of punchy, conversion-focused copywriting.

Content length is simply how many words are on a page. While longer articles usually rank better because they provide more detail, you should never add useless “fluff” just to make an article longer. The article should only be exactly as long as it needs to be to answer the question.
