Shopping Ads
Shopping Ads (formerly Product Listing Ads or PLAs) are highly visual, product-specific advertisements displayed at the absolute top of the Google SERP or within the dedicated Google Shopping tab. Unlike standard text ads, Shopping Ads feature a high-resolution product image, the exact price, the retailer’s name, and a star rating. They are generated dynamically via a data feed from the retailer’s Google Merchant Center, rather than by bidding on specific keywords. Because they provide the user with all critical purchasing information before the click, Shopping Ads generate exceptionally high conversion rates, making them the most lucrative paid acquisition channel for enterprise e-commerce brands.
Shopping Ads Simplified
Shopping Ads are the row of product pictures and prices that show up at the very top of Google when you search to buy something. Because the customer can see the picture, the price, and the reviews before they even click, they are incredibly likely to actually buy the product.
