Keyword Frequency
Keyword frequency is the raw, total number of times a specific keyword or phrase appears within a single webpage. Unlike keyword density (which is a percentage), frequency is just a hard count. While ensuring the primary keyword appears enough times to establish topical relevance is necessary, obsessing over keyword frequency is an outdated SEO tactic. Google’s algorithm prioritizes the use of semantic variations, LSI keywords, and comprehensive topical coverage over the sheer repetition of a single term. Artificially inflating keyword frequency inevitably degrades the readability of the content and risks triggering a spam penalty.

Keyword frequency is simply counting exactly how many times you used a specific word in your article. While you need to use the word a few times so Google knows what the article is about, using it 50 times won’t help you rank any higher and will just annoy your readers.
